7. Amazing Malls in the World: Melbourne’s GPO

A big-box mall this is not. One of the most amazing malls in the world, this is. Melbourne’s GPO is home to a unique mix of Australian and international designers, but the real draw is the stunning, neo-Renaissance-style building that houses the shopping centre. First used as the city’s post office, the building was constructed in 1867. The space was converted into a luxury shopping centre in 2004, and the designers retained much of the heritage building’s original features. The beautiful arches, soaring ceilings and ornate columns make it seem as though you’re shopping in a palace.
